Overthinking Reveals True Character

In Poetry on April 25, 2014 at 3:27 pm

Thoughts arrive on sailboats

Offering their ideas and

Voicing them immediately

But thoughts also drown on sailboats

When they plunge into

The deep abyss

No longer remembered

Thought of or conceived

Vision becomes a slow motion film and

Every action is enlarged and emphasized

Talking becomes intent and

Every word is sounded from a political argument

Intentions are scrutinized

Like a Muslim walking through a metal detector and

Guilt expands like helium in a balloon

To pop from the constant pressure

Of performing above perfection

The student’s teacher

The valedictorian’s tutor

The prodigy’s master

All different forms of God

I ought to repent for my sins

But that can wait until tomorrow

Traumatized by Our own vapid vapor

the neon skull is crushing

is churning

Jupiter, Mars and Pluto

neatly in place.

Nite Trek

In Poetry on April 1, 2014 at 3:52 pm

Nite trek

on a one night track

on a one night road

on a one night mind

like a wooden

ten-speed bicycle

with pierced leather gloves

and unlimited kerosene.

Our edge

is the remembrance of
